YouTuber Jimmy ‘MrBeast‘ Donaldson recently dropped a video where he pays for the surgeries of 1,000 blind people. He teamed up with SEE International to make this initiative effective.

Streamers and his fans are raining appreciation on him, but Twitch streamer Hasan ‘HasanAbi’ Piker is not too happy with this idea. On his January 29 live stream, the streamer watched the video with fellow content creator Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter.

Valkyrae was quite touched to see one section of the video when HasanAbi gave a contradictory reaction. “You watch this video and go ‘aw, how cute. how nice.’ I watch this video and I’m filled with rage,” the Twitch streamer provided his take.

Mrbeast’s YouTube video highlighted how millions of people are not able to cure their blindness, either due to lack of knowledge or poor financial situation. The surgeon who partnered up with his team also explained that most blind people only require a 10-minute surgery.

HasanAbi was particularly disappointed at this aspect as he explained that the drawbacks of the US healthcare system. “We shut off action for a 10-minute procedure because we paywalled it”. He added that we have come to this decision by ourselves that some people can’t get it.

He continued to say that it is frustrating to see one YouTube guy bringing this concept up, when in reality the healthcare system should make improvements. “It’s just like a deeply, a deeply frustrating concept,” the political streamer concluded the discussion.

The Twitch clip of HasanAbi was shared on the r/LivestreamFails subreddit where most of the users agreed with Hasan’s opinion. One of the users wrote that it is gut-wrenching to see that these people were not able to get this surgery done before.

Nevertheless, people have been appreciating MrBeast for taking this massive initiative. Fans are hoping to see more such charity work from him in the near future.
