Kirby has officially been named a Grammy Award winner at least in spirit. The pink, spherical creature was important in earning Charlie Rosen & Jake Silverman a Grammy for their rendition of Meta Knight’s Revenge from the 1996 classic Kirby Superstar.
The 8-Bit Big Band, a 30- to 65-member orchestra that specialised in putting its stamp on video game music, played the arrangement. The 8-Bit Big Band has previously performed Zelda’s Lullaby from Ocarina of Time, Fourside from Earthbound, Big Blue from F-Zero, and a variety of other songs.
