Mizkif, who has been known to be one of the most cheerful streamers that the platform has seen to date, recently opened up about struggling with his mental health over the past couple years.

The streamer also revealed that he even considered quitting twitch at one point to prioritise his mental health but then later changed his mind.

As we mentioned before, Mizkif has had mental health issues before. It is also noteworthy that he landed in the hospital back in 2019 due to a panic attack that he had.

In a more recent stream on April 17th, Miz opened up about the issue in more detail saying that his mental health has been progressively going downhill ever since the incident. So much so that he has even considered quitting twitch because of it.

Speaking about his mental health

“My mental health has completely and utterly gone downhill since 2018,” he said. “You would think that money has solved all my problems. Money definitely makes things easier, but money does not help your mental problems.”

“You can’t replace mental health. You can’t do it. There’s no machine I could buy for two million dollars that puts my brain into a tube, and all of a sudden it comes out and it’s squeaky clean. That’s just how it is.”

He went on to explain how things have been getting worse for him throughout the years ever since he started streaming and how the lifestyle has been taking its toll on him. “I was in school. I had just finished college. My brain was well-rounded and sh*t. My brain was good. But then as time went on, [the more I streamed], my brain melted.”

Thoughts about quitting streaming

Miz then revealed that at his lowest point, he even considered quitting the streaming life. “It was really bad. I said to myself, ‘I don’t want to do this forever.’ I was planning on quitting before turning 30. And when I say quitting, I mean I’m done.”

Take note that Miz turned 27 this February so if he does decide to box his streaming gear at 30, we still have him around for a couple more years. Though he also said that he “was planning” to quit so we might see him treating himself to a well deserved early retirement from streaming.

Either way, what Mizkif revealed shed a lot of light on how streaming affects the lives of people behind the screen and what kinds of problems they face.
