The year of 2021 has been the golden time for mobile games as the number of active users for different games are rising exponentially. Most of the games have crossed $1 billion revenue in terms of player spending and the list consists of PUBG Mobile, Free Fire along with other popular games.

Mobile games are generating high revenues since the onset of pandemic and remain one of the most promising industry for two consecutive years . The recent data dispayed by official data analytics show a soaring trend of rise in mobile games due to higher player spending. One such popular data analyser, Sensor Tower shows that almost 8 games this year have been able to generate more than 1 billion revenue through player spending which is much higher than the previous year. Let us take a look at the games which have been able to achieve this feat.

According to Sensor Tower, Tencent’s PUBG Mobile is again dominating the revenue charts which is not surprising as the game was able to make  record breaking revenue collection over the third quarter of 2021. As of now, the game has generated 2.8 billion in worldwide player spending. The other gaming title able to achieve almost the same revenue is Honor Of Kings which is also published by Tencent. A couple of months ago, Honor of Kings also became the highest earning mobile game in lifetime player spending and also the first one generate 10 billion in the mentioned category.

Genshin Impact by MiHoYo can be termed as the most popular game ever released as within a few months of its launch, it became the fastest game ever to cross 1 billion in player spending. Generating most of its revenue from countries such as China and Japan, the game is placed at the third rank. Roblox and Coin Master’s revenue have also risen sharply compared to the previous as both of these games have surpassed 1 billion revenue.

Pokemon GO, an augmented reality game by Nintendo which saw its release in the month of 2016 and Candy Crush Saga, a renowned fun puzzle game have crossed 1.2 billion revenue this year. Although the player spending in Pokemon Go has fell compared to the preceding year.

The last game to cross 1 billion revenue mark is Free Fire published by Garena. The game is giving tough competition to other battle royale titles such as PUBG Mobile in particularly the Asian countries. Garena had also launched Free Fire MAX this year which has also become quite popular among the gaming enthusiasts.
