One of the biggest developers and publishers in the gaming industry, Riot Games, has revealed its newest virtual music group, Heartsteel. Heartsteel stars reimagined versions of six League of Legends characters as members of the band. Heartsteel joins Riot’s lineup of League of Legends music groups that already include K/DA (a K-Pop group), PENTAKILL (a heavy metal band), and True Damage (a hip-hop group).

Riot Games has always considered music an integral part of the game. They work tirelessly on their games’ background scores and audio. League of Legends eSports always feature a cover song for their World Championships. Riot has collaborated with popular artists such as Lil Nas X and Imagine Dragons for their esports events. 

Riot Games has described Heartsteel as “a group of dynamic daredevils dedicated to unapologetic individuality and creative expression. Their mission is to blaze a path to success on their own terms. The group’s personality and sound draws inspiration from modern music collectives and a range of influences from across genres and eras, culminating in a bold, one-of-a-kind identity.”

The tweet announcing the band has received widespread praise from the League of Legends community. Riot Games has also released well-designed cover art for the band on their Twitter. Many internet users are also calling the band “Heartsteal”, with wordplay implying that the new band has stolen the hearts of the fans.

League of Legends Virtual Music Group – Heartsteel

Heartsteel features Ezreal as the vocalist, Kayn as a rapper and instrumentalist, Aphelios as a songwriter and instrumentalist, Yone as the producer, K’Sante as the co-leader and vocalist, and Sett as the other co-leader and the rapper. The group is coming out with their debut single, “Paranoia,” on October 23rd, 2023, at 3 p.m. UTC.

The song is written and performed by popular South Korean singer-songwriter BAEKHYUN. The song also features other artists such as Tobi Lou, ØZI, and Cal Scruby. You can pre-save Paranoia already on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Deezer.
