“Companies might get mad” Sykkuno reveals his plan if he gets banned from twitch

Sykkuno talks about twitch bans

Sykkuno was talking about the recent series of bans on a stream. Streamers have been getting into a lot of trouble with Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA) strikes happening quite frequently for the past few weeks. Twitch is known as a platform where streamers rarely get a copyright strike on them, but due to the recent surge of streamers like Disguised Toast (who watched Naruto) watching TV shows on stream Twitch has had an iron-fisted approach to it.

What did Sykkuno say?

He hoped that the companies would get mad at twitch instead just of the streamers. He said if that happens he’s going to go talk to his friend Valkyrae. “Just kidding I haven’t streamed any shows” he said then proceeded by saying that if he gets banned he will take assistance of his good friends Vlakyrae and Ludwig.

Then he proceeded to mention how Disguised Toast had deleted his VODs to escape the DCMA strikes. “I was one of the 30k viewers” Sykkuno said as he explained that Toast has a massive audience on twitch and that they probably noticed Toast streaming his episodes of Naruto even if he deleted his VODs. After this he wondered if he would get a ban just for talking about Toast’s infamous Naruto stream.

Why is Twitch handing out DCMA strikes more frequently?

During the Lockdown and recent a lot of streamers had started to watch TV shows on twitch (Sykkuno claims he wasn’t among them). This resulted in a harsh response from twitch which started handing out DCMA strikes. Many streamers using the service started to feel insecure as they asked twitch if they would begin to ban them for using copyright music, something twitch did not do in the past. These questions were address by Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham the director creator development at twitch
