To learn the way to get one and usage of the same, let’s peek into the more detailed construction of one of the game’s main quests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The Travel Medallion in Tears of the Kingdom
Before Link can set out to begin this hunt for the Travel Medallion, there are a few things that players will have to complete. This includes going through Robbie’s quest. This is only possible when Link gets his way into Lookout Landing.
Link has access to Lookout Landing when he comes from Sky Island. As the game progresses and Link collects items and completes his side quests, he will eventually come across a character named Joshua. To begin with, Joshua, who is one of the researchers of Purah, When Link works together with Joshua, it will land him on the side quest to Robbie.
This is now half the work done in getting hands on the travel medallion. Robbie’s first quest will enable Link to unlock the camera feature. After which, he will head right towards Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, which lies to the north of Hateno village. This will help Link get three upgrades to the Purah pad, which include the Travel Medallion, Sensor Plus, and Hero’s Path mode. Among the three that requires effort and time is the Time Medallion.
Location of Time Medallion in Tears of the Kingdom
To upgrade the Purah pad Link would, by default, need to get the Travel Medallion Prototype. This will be found in the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. It is found in the northeastern corner of the map.
After completing the “Presenting: The Travel Medallion!” task, Link can visit the lab at any time. A Yiga Blade Master and a Yiga Foot Soldier will be waiting for Link when he enters the tower and tries to open the entrance. Link can enter after battling them. A man wearing Cece clothing can be seen here; he appears shocked by Link’s arrival. Konba is his name, and it looks like he has been creating the Yiga’s attire because he provides Link with his own Yiga Amor chest piece.
When Link enters the corner of the room, he will come across a stone chest. After opening the stone chest, players will be satisfied to see a Travel Medallion Prototype. From here, players will have to take this prototype to Robbie for him to upgrade it for the Purah pad. And with that, the whole quest to find the Medallion comes to an end.
