Valorant: Riot Games Devs confirm Swiftplay will be a permanent game mode

Swiftplay is a very fun game mode in Valorant. Its beta version was released with the 5.12 patch on 6 December 2022. It quickly gained popularity. Sometimes players just want to play Valorant for a shorter time and don’t want to participate in an almost 30-40 minute mayhem. Swiftplay is the perfect mode for these players. It gives a similar environment as a generic Valorant match but with less time commitment. Although there’s Spike Rush already for short fast paced matches, however, you don’t get the same unrated environment there.

Players need to win 5 rounds to win in Swiftplay. There’s also a different ‘economy’ system in this game mode. Each round will begin with a fixed amount of credits for the players: 800 in the first half-round, 2400 in the second round, and 4250 in the third and fourth rounds. The kill bonus and spike plant bonus remains the same, i.e. 200 creds and 300 creds respectively. In the recently released Dev Diary, Valorant devs made it clear that Swiftplay is here to stay for a longer period. Now, devs have revealed that they are ending the beta period for Swiftplay, and it will be a permanent game mode.

Players always like quick fast-paced game modes. Games like CS: GO and Overwatch already has such type of game modes and Valorant players can now enjoy the same.

Some players asked to add Swiftplay for ranked matches too. However, it’s very unlikely that Valorant devs will add Swiftplay game mode for ranked matches. More details about Swiftplay will be revealed in the patch notes for patch 6.03. Patch 6.03 will go live on 14 February.
