Riot Games releases Patch 5.05 for Valorant, brings fixes to social features and a new skin bundle
The minor patch comes in the midst of VCT Istanbul
Riot Games’ 5v5 FPS offering, Valorant has quickly become a favourite for fans of the genre, having more than 21 million active players at the time of writing. The huge player base is a major reason the dev team keeps working on fixing any and all issues found in the game.
Patch 5.05 is the latest series of fixes and improvements to the game. Coming in the midst of Champions 2022, no major changes came in this update, just some small, yet important fixes to the social features and player dynamics.

Latest Valorant Patch brings minor fixes, new skin bundle
The 5.05 patch for Valorant is a minor one, as it comes while fans watch the elite of the game trade blows in at VCT 2022 Istanbul, majorly fixing bugs and issues with the reporting and invites system. The official account accidentally announced the patch as 5.06, later correcting themselves and making light of the incident.
The notes for the patch are as follows:
Social Updates
- Fixed an issue that allowed you to report yourself
- Fixed an issue where some of you did not receive a notification when attempting to join a party you’ve been kicked from
- Fixed an issue where a blank user would appear in the Social Panel when joining a party where players are in-game
- Fixed an issue where you could not successfully report a player in Agent Select after the game has been running for 30 minutes
- Fixed an issue where players with non-English characters in their Riot IDs could not be found via Invite by Riot ID
- Fixed an issue that caused the Context Menu and Friend Note text fields to close when a Friend’s status updated in the Social Panel
- Fixed an issue that caused the Party Leader’s matchmaking lobby selection to affect in-game Party Members’ status in the Social Panel
Gameplay Systems Updates
- Fixed a bug where binding the “Home” key to an action does not work
- For certain languages, the tooltip values of rewarded credits in Overtime Rounds were incorrect.
- Updated tooltip values to reflect that you will start with 5000 credits at the start of Overtime Rounds, no matter if you win or lose the previous round.

Other than the fixes, the patch also brought with it the Kohaku & Matsuba skin bundle, bringing tranquil koi art-based skins for the Classic, Judge, Phantom and the Operator. It also adds a fan-like animation when equipped with the Equilibrium knife. A glimpse of the bundle can be seen in the above video.
