The VCT Masters Tokyo 2023 has concluded, and now fans await the VCT Champions’ main event. Organizers have decided upon the qualifying teams after months of grueling matches. However, all regions still have a single vacant slot for the main event. And the battle to claim that final spot is going on in full bloom. But one team that’s out of this race is ScreaM’s team, Karmine Corp. During the VCT EMEA LCQ, NaVi defeated Karmine Corp. after a tough battle, despite ScreaM trying his best.

ScreaM joined Karmine Corp’s Valorant roster last year as their main duelist. Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom is a former CS: GO player who has played for famous eSports organizations like G2 Esports & Fnatic. He received immense success and fame through Counter-Strike but transitioned to a career in Valorant in 2020. He played for Team Liquid until 2022 before switching over to Karmine Corp. However, despite being an accomplished player, his 2023 Valorant season has not been great so far.

Furthermore, Karmine Corp itself didn’t have much luck in their 2023 VCT season. Their overall performance during the EMEA League regular seasons was so poor that they landed on the last position. This, by default, disqualified them from participating in the EMEA Leagues to contest for a slot in the Champions main event. Moreover, NaVi took away their last chance for a shot at the 2 vacant Champions slots during their lower round EMEA LCQ match.

Scream is Karmine Corp’s only duelist player and prefers Raze or Phoenix as per the map and opponent’s playstyle. Furthermore, as a duelist player in Valorant, players are expected to stand at the top of the leaderboard by assisting site entries and making quick and precise trade-offs. And the former CS player did try his best throughout the VCT 2023, but it wasn’t enough. In the match between Karmine Corp & NaVi, Karmine Corp lost the game with a score of 2-1.

Scream took the top spot in the overall team rankings. During the first map, Lotus, the former CS player, dropped 15 frags as Raze, a duelist, with his little brother, Nivera, right behind him with 13 frags while playing Sova, an initiator. Karmine Corp lost the first map but won the second map, Ascent. ScreaM’s contributions in the second map were great, while xms & ZE1SH performed splendidly on the map. And they won the second map due to massive team contributions.

On the last map, Pearl, ScreaM’s performance was good, but it still wasn’t enough to turn the tables on NaVi. Thus, as a result, Karmine Corp suffered their defeat and got eliminated from the VCT EMEA LCQs. This showcases that the former CS pro did try his best during the matches, but the overall team performance wasn’t up to par.

With Karmine Corp out of the season, NaVi has made its way to the lower finals. Fans were upset as their beloved player, famed for his immaculate skills and aim, tried his best, but it didn’t cut it. Fans are hoping for ScreaM to work with his teammates during the off-season. Furthermore, fans expect him to come out as a better player during the next VCT. As for now, NaVi is still standing strong and will contest the 2 vacant spots to qualify for the VCT Champions main event.
