Virtual Dining Concepts (VDC), the ghost kitchen behind MrBeast Burger sues back MrBeast for a WHOOPING $100 million
This lawsuit comes right after MrBeast's lawsuit, filed a week ago.
The YouTube hierarchy has seen a major shift in rankings recently. The most subscribed YouTuber, PewDiePie, has lost his title. Furthermore, the most adored and wealthiest YouTuber, Mr. Beast, has taken up the spot, surpassing PewDiePie. And with the rise in popularity of the YouTuber, he has launched a lot of food items on the market. However, it seems like one of the items may cause trouble for the YouTuber. Moreover, this item in question is none other than the Mr. Beast Burger.
Everyone agrees the pandemic era was one of the worst ones for the flooding and catering industry. It was the hardest time for them as the running businesses took a major hit to sales. Moreover, some businesses even had to close down. However, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson opened up a virtual restaurant chain called MrBeast Burger in partnership with Virtual Dining Concepts, LLC.
However, recent skirmishes between Virtual Dining Concepts, LLC, and MrBeast have been on the rise. The situation has deteriorated so much that Mr. Beast even sued them. Jimmy even took it to Twitter and posted many tweets on his official Twitter handle regarding the situation. Although all of them are deleted now,. Furthermore, to make matters worse, Virtual Dining Concepts, LLC, has sued Mr. Beast for a whopping $100 Million!
Virtual Dining Concepts suing MrBeast for a $100 Million
Around a week ago, MrBeast sued Virtual Dining Concepts, LLC, the ghost kitchen behind MrBeast Burger. Mr. Beast Burger, which was released in 2020, has gained a lot of traction in just 3 years. They have opened over 2000 virtual restaurant chains, and the revenue generated is huge. However, as per Jimmy, this huge rate of prenotification has led to a massive decrease in quality. As per the YouTuber, the customer reviews regarding the Burgers have been “low-quality products, delivered late, in unbranded packaging” that were sometimes “inedible.”
However, Virtual Dining Concepts, LLC, counter-sued the YouTuber for $100 Million. A copy of the lawsuit, which Forbes was able to obtain, claims that Jimmy failed to fulfill promotional obligations and further asserts that he made “disparaging comments” about MrBeast Burgers and VDC that resulted in irreparable harm. The suit cites several since-deleted tweets in which Donaldson expressed his desire to end the partnership and claimed he had signed a bad contract.
Furthermore, VDC contends in the lawsuit that Donaldson’s words caused the restaurant, MrBeast Burger, and the company to suffer a damaged or ruined reputation, including losing vendors, suppliers, and customers, which resulted in harm “in the nine-figure range.” According to VDC, this has been a huge hit to their business and shares. The company quoted, regarding the YouTuber,
“This case is about a social media celebrity who believes his fame means that his word does not matter, that the facts do not matter, and that he can renege and breach his contractual obligations without consequence. He is mistaken.”
As of right now, the tensions are high between the company and the YouTuber. Furthermore, with the whole Union Square Park riot incident, the whole streamer and YouTube community is right now in a really sensitive state. So such a massive lawsuit coming up has made everyone in the community look for any further development.
