Call of Duty Warzone 2 has been out for almost 2 months and Call of Duty has finally announced its first-ever Warzone 2 tournament. Call of Duty is known for its esports events which happen throughout the year. These events were usually Multiplayer matches or battle royal matches however this time it will be the newly added DMZ game mode.

DMZ is a new survival battle royal game mode in which players explore Al Mazrah and engage in PuP and PvE. This is a single-life game mode and players can extract from the game from the exfill locations. The players have an inventory which is lost when they die in the game. This game mode was added to Warzone 2 and MW2 and has become quite popular since then.

Call of Duty took to Twitter to announce their COD Warzone 2 DMZ Gauntlet tournament. This esports event will add a spark to the community and hype them up for the new Warzone 2 season.

The DMZ Gauntlet tournament will begin on January 17, 2023 and there will be 16 teams participating in this tournament. The participating teams will be trios and the map will be Al Mazrah. The prize pool for this tournament is $30,000 which is massive, like every other COD esports event. The invitations for this tournament are still pending and COD also asked who the community would want to see participate in the event.

This is all the information that was revealed by the COD Twitter status. This will be very unique battle royal esports event experience for all. The official tweet says, “16 captains and their trios work their way through a variety of challenges in DMZ competing for their share of $30,000.” This means the basis of the team rankings will be on the completion of the challenges.

As of now, it is not certain where this event will be streamed however it is expected to be streamed on their YouTube channel and on their official Twitch channel. Another thing that is kept hidden is how the prize pool will be distributed amongst the participants.
