The beloved Fortnite Season OG ended on December 3rd with the Fortnite Big Bang event. Epic Games revealed three new game modes at the event that deviate from the classic battle royale. These three modes are Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite, and Festival Fortnite. The modes were fully unveiled at The Game Awards and put into the game the next day.
Fortnite Festival, added in the new Fortnite chapter, branches away from the classic Fortnite mode by allowing players to participate in Guitar Hero-styled jam sessions. The mode can be played solo or alongside other friends. The mode supports up to four players and will enable players to choose from their favourite blockbuster tracks.
Entering the game mode will take you backstage, where you can finalise details before heading onto the main stage. In the backstage menu, you can decide which player plays the lead, drums, vocals, or bass. Selecting the lead allows you to choose between the guitar and the keytar. You can also decide your setlist through this menu.
Fortnite steps up its “music game” with the introduction of Jam Tracks
Jam Tracks in Fortnite are songs you can perform in the Fortnite Festival game mode. There are also lobby songs that you can modify and remix in the Fortnite Festival Jam Stage mode. To construct your setlist, walk up to the organ in the middle of the backstage room. You can add up to four jam tracks from your collection to the setlist.
You can unlock more jam tracks by progressing the festival battle pass or purchasing them in the shop in exchange for V-bucks. All players have the “OG (Future Remix)” and “Show Them Who We Are” Lobby Tracks in their Locker by default. These lobby tracks double as Jam Tracks, which you can use in the Fortnite Festival.
Lastly, even if you do not have many jam tracks in your arsenal, you need not worry. Epic Games has added several Jam Tracks you can try out before purchasing them from the shop as Daily Jam Tracks. Daily Jam Tracks are songs that you can play for a day while they are in rotation. As the name suggests, the tracks rotate every 24 hours.
