Valorant Patch 5.10 makes some modifications to Cypher and Fade

Valorant Patch 5.10 makes some modifications to Cypher and Fade

Valorant Patch 5.10

In the latest update of Episode 5 Act 3Valorant incorporated a number of changes to the UI design, however, nothing came in terms of certain buffs to agents that receive almost no game time in the Competitive meta while some are picked almost on all maps. One of the primary issues was how underpowered Cypher had become ever since the release of newer agents in the game, especially since Fade came out, and now with the introduction of Harbor.

Cypher has long been overdue to receive some buffs since he has almost no pick rate at the competitive meta. Players are either way moving with a Sage, Killjoy and the meta king Chamber, rather than running a Cypher. Therefore, although at its initial stages, the devs have promised the following changes to Cypher.

  • Trapwire Maximum Trapwire length increased 1000 >>> 1500
  • Ultimate will reveal the location of all living enemy players twice with a 4-second delay between each ping.
  • Tripwire Length has increased from 1000 to 1500 –
  • Abilities cannot get destroyed by Alles’ AOE

Cypher’s ultimate is set to receive a huge buff with the time limit removed and the length of the trapwire increased considerably to allow more coverage in different areas, allowing Cypher to fulfil his sentinel abilities better.

Valorant agent Fade to be nerfed in the upcoming patch

Valorant
Fade

Ever since Fade‘s release in the game, she has been undisputed queen of initiators on most maps, especially in the closer-range maps like Pearl or Fracture. She was brought on to displace Sova from his throne as the most picked initiator, and data suggest that she has served her purpose, making Sova a better choice for longer maps, and really proving an option to the gamers. Her prowlers are great for clearing corners, she can reveal and tag, and her ultimate is a cheat code to retake an enemy side easily and has an attacking kit in general.

Fade is set to be nerfed in the next patch along with some Cypher buffs. The proposed changes to her kit are:

  • Prowler’s Duration has been reduced from 3s to 2.5s
  • Prowler’s Nearsight duration reduced from 3.5 to 2.75 seconds.
  • Delay on the Prowler’s Bite has been increased from .4s >>> .6s.
  • Ultimate increased from 7 Points to 8 Points.

This appears to be some sort of a universal nerf on Fade, and it will be interesting to find out how Fade mains react to her after the nerfs go live in the next patch, and if the nerf actually ends up helping the playtime of Cypher and getting him picked in the competitive meta.
