No doubt Novak is one of the giants in the history of tennis, but there’s a final feather in his cap, and that’s the French Open. And most of the tennis players believe that Djokovic has no chance to win the French Open because Nadal has won the title 12 times and has the best record in it so far.

However, Novak’s coach does not believe likewise as he was more afraid of Dominic Thiem who is a more awkward tennis player.

“Everyone is talking about Nadal, but I was more afraid of Dominic Thiem who is a more awkward tennis player. Nadal doesn’t like to play against Novak Djokovic”, Goran Ivanisevic in an interview with Al Jazeera Balkans.

The 48-year-old still feels that it is hard for Novak to win there again even if he is in the best form of his career. The Serb has struggled against Dominic Thiem at the French Open in recent years. Back in 2017, he lost to them in straight sets, and in 2019, he lost to them in 5 sets, even though he was playing his best tennis at the time.

While Thiem has troubled Novak in the past, that is not stopping the Serbs from trying to win the French Open, and he would like to win it even more now as he can complete a double career Grand Slam. No one has completed it in the Open Era and hence will be focused on completing it.

Furthermore, this record can play a major role in deciding who ends up as tennis’s GOAT. This is a debate that has been going on for a long time and if Novak Djokovic completes a double career Grand Slam, he can put an end to this long-running debate. Many would-be hoping that he would do just that.
