F1 BritishGP: Verstappen overshadows Hamilton at Silverstone FP1

Although Hamilton had a new MGU-K fitted to his W11 recently in a precautionary move by Team Mercedes. Nothing seemed to have worked as Red Bull racer, Max Verstappen finished ahead of him practice session of the 2020 British Grand Prix. The highlight going in the race was Sergio Perez testing positive for COVID 19 and was replaced by Nico Hulkenberg.

Highlights of 1st Practice at Silverstone

The latter was one of the first drivers out of the garage when the session began and finished 9th fastest on his return. Talking about Verstappen, quite contrary to Hamilton put soft tyres which helped him race past Hamilton by 0.474s. His teammate Alex Avon finished 4th.

Hamilton’s teammate Valterri Bottas who is currently 2nd in F1 focused on the long run the hard compound tire. As far as Ferrari is concerned who is not having such a great season, their driver Vettel was stuck in the garage for FP1 with an intercooler issue in his SF1000 car. But his team assured the driver would be racing in the FP2.

Rounding up the 10th spot was Daniil Kvyat who was a bristle faster than 11th-place teammate Pierre Gasly. Lastly much spoken about, Rookie Nicholas Latifi finished 19th in front of garage-leap Vettel.
