Red Bull’s continuous attempts to improve performance amidst the struggles have failed miserably. Milton Keynes has already lost the constructors’ championship lead to McLaren after their dominant performance. Regardless, the team will continue implementing further upgrades to improve performance for the six remaining races. Christian Horner hoped for Max Verstappen to gain confidence from these upgrades.

Max Verstappen hasn’t tasted victory ever since his last win in the Spanish GP this season. Red Bull’s performance plummeted especially after the upgrades implemented during the Italian GP. Hence, Christian Horner reckoned that the team was looking to build the chassis on the understanding gained in Monza. The chassis needed to be well balanced between the front and the rear axle to provide best results.

What we’re looking to do is to build on the understanding that we’ve started to really get a clear picture since Monza and take the car there that’s well-balanced between both of its axles.

Christian Horner said on the F1 Nation podcast

Following the upgrades planned for the RB20, Horner hopes to instill confidence in the drivers, especially Verstappen. The Red Bull boss further highlighted the ‘different challenge’ at the upcoming US GP. The high-speed first sector, followed by the resurfaced part of the circuit were some of the variables crucial for Red Bull’s upgrades.

It inspires the confidence of the drivers. It’s a very different challenge there, very high speed first sector, then the resurfaced part of the circuit, so there’s another variable thrown in.

Red Bull to implement a new front wing and revised floor on the RB20

Red Bull hasn’t exactly revealed all the details of the new upgrade package planned for Austin. However, as per Racingnews365, Milton Keynes is supposed to work on the floor and the front wing. The front section of the floor is to be revised to better facilitate the turbulence caused at the rear.

In addition to this, the front wing would also see some changes regarding flexibility. Following McLaren’s illegal rear and front wing movement, Milton Keynes has decided to bring changes as well. As a result, the Austrian constructor might just emerge victorious over the American weekend following the hopeful upgrades.

The team has already decided not to don a special livery at the second out of the three American weekends. Red Bull is focused on performance improvement and not the other additional features amidst the torrid time. The Austrian constructor must work extremely hard in order to contend for the WCC once again.
