Lando Norris was the driver to watch at the Mexico GP as he thrashed the rivals on the grid and achieved a stellar race win. Notably, Norris finished the race with a massive gap of over 30 seconds to the trailing driver in Charles Leclerc, the highest gap this season.
Despite his dominant outing in Mexico, he was brutally booed by the fans while celebrating his win on the podium. Now, the Sunday race winner has lashed out at the fans and provided them with a stern response.
The Mexico GP wasn’t the only race where Lando Norris was trolled by the crowds amid his winning performances. The Briton was also booed at the Monza GP following the team order fiasco between him and Oscar Piastri. As such, some people predicted that the controversies in Italy were the reason behind the hostile reaction to Norris winning the race in Mexico.
However, Lando Norris pays no heed to such boos from the crowd; rather, he feels more motivated by them. He pointed out that he couldn’t stop laughing when people booed him from the crowd. Norris insisted that such reactions were more entertaining for him than cheers. The Briton asserted that the fans can continue with such a reaction, even though he actively did not want to be booed.
Norris accepted that he preferred it if people cheered for him. Nevertheless, he wished to focus on himself and his performances and not on people’s reactions to whatever he did on track. The Briton recalled that he was subjected to similar reactions in Monza and a few other places. Still, the 25-year-old saw the boos as more like a laughing stock rather than a point of offense for himself.
I don’t know why I can’t stop laughing when I get booed, I think it makes it more entertaining for me. They can keep doing it if they want. Of course, you don’t want it. I prefer if people cheer for me. But I don’t know. Like I said, I just concentrate on doing my things. It was the same in, what, Monza and a few other places. So, yeah. I don’t know why. I just can’t stop laughing. If they want to continue, they can.

Lando Norris makes a ‘that’s F1’ remark on being booed in Mexico
Formula 1 is an intense and passionate sport, especially for the fans. The fans run very high on emotions at times and get carried away when their favorite driver does not win. It is commonly seen that whichever driver dominates the track, he is booed by the crowd, as was the case with Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and many more. As such, Lando Norris isn’t too concerned with the unwelcoming gesture by the fans in Mexico.

Lando Norris reiterated that he was unaware of the reasons behind being booed by the fans and people in Mexico. He reckoned that people could do whatever they wanted, and he would be the least concerned about it.
Norris insisted that the fans had a right to cheer or boo whoever they wanted, and it was all part of the sport sometimes. Hence, the 25-year-old would hope to dominate many more races and get booed on track if that’s all it takes for him to emerge as a dominant force.
I don’t know why, to be honest, People can do what they want, honestly. They have the right to do it if they want to do it. So I think that’s sport sometimes.
Lando Norris noted
The 2025 season has been quite eventful for Lando Norris. The Briton has finally achieved the title lead over Oscar Piastri, though with just one point. For now, Norris will soak in all the high moments of the year and fully focus on what’s next. With just four races left this year, the 25-year-old will have to give it his all against the in-form rivals right on his tail in the standings.
