Nine Grands Prix have now been finished by George Russell with Mercedes this year. The British driver has consistently placed among the top five in almost all races this season. He is happy with the outcome, but Russell acknowledges that he cannot benefit much from it.

Russell is presently performing better than his Mercedes teammate and 7-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton, despite the fact that many people anticipated he would require some time to adjust to the Brackley-based racing team at the beginning of the season. He has also given his racing team the vital points with positive results in Australia, Spain, and Azerbaijan.

George Russell has been performing consistently in terms of holding his top five place in the races. “It’s a nice little statistic. It feels good and I don’t think it could have been much better, but at the end of the season it doesn’t help me. Unless it leads to the title, but that’s not going to happen this year,” said Russell.

Russell appears to be aware that winning the world championship this year is unlikely. With 111 points, the British driver is fourth in the overall drivers’ standings, 64 points behind leader Max Verstappen. Russell’s teammate Hamilton is on 77 points at the moment.

The British Grand Prix today will be the tenth race of the 2022 season of Formula One. The race at the prestigious Silverstone Circuit will also mark as the home race of the two Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, along with McLaren’s Lando Norris.
