Daniel Ricciardo’s life over the last two years in Formula 1 has been utterly tumultuous. The Perth native could enjoy only two seasons with McLaren before the Woking outfit decided to drop him citing poor results. Despite winning his eighth Grand Prix with the papaya squad, the Honey Badger had to bid goodbye to the team as they chose another Aussie–Oscar Piastri–in his place. And Daniel Ricciardo found himself without a single team contract at the end of the 2022 season of Formula 1.
Then, his former team Red Bull picked up Daniel for a reserve driver role for the current season. Midway through the season, Helmut Marko decided to replace Nyck deVries with Daniel Ricciardo as the former Formula E Champion could not garner the results he promised at AlphaTauri. Thus, Daniel got back into regular racing in a chance event–until he lost it again due to his wrist injury. The Australian got injured after a freak accident at the Italian GP, and is now in recovery. But recently, he made his first public experience since his last outing in Monza.
Daniel Ricciardo, who is missing races for his injury and will not be seen driving at the upcoming Singapore GP too, attended an event for Crypto Exchange platform OKX. He was there with his Olympic snowboarder buddy Scotty James as the two are brand ambassadors for the world’s second biggest player in the crypto market. And Daniel talked about how he thought hard before endorsing something as controversial as crypto currency.

Daniel Ricciardo admits he was skeptical about endorsing OKX
Only a few months after Daniel Ricciardo signed up for endorsing OKX, the FTX collapsed and the markets crashed. This apparently sent the Aussie into panic as he admitted during the recent OKX event, I’ve been in the sport a long time where for sure, a lot of things get put in front of me, which is exciting. But you kind of also learn when to say ‘no, that’s not right for me.” But later, Daniel realised there is no harm in what he was promoting.
As for his career in racing, Daniel Ricciardo is now being considered for a regular racing role at AlphaTauri next year. The 34-year-old will accompany Liam Lawson in 2024, as rumor has it. And Yuki Tsunoda will be taken up in a reserve roll at Red Bull, with him being set up for a regular seat beside Max Verstappen in the upcoming seasons. But all these are only speculations as of now, and it remains to be seen if they turn out to be true as the current season progresses.
