Four time world champion Sebastian Vettel finally joins social media

Out of all the things that could have happened in the 2022 F1 season, Aston Martin F1 Driver Sebastian Vettel joining the social media bandwagon is in my opinion the most unpredictable thing to happen and I’m all for it.

Social Media is something that Four Time World Champion Sebastian Vettel has condemned for a long time. Up till the French GP, the Aston Martin driver was the only individual on the 2022 Grid to not have any social media presence.

A few hours have passed since the German driver came on Instagram. In that time period, Sebastian Vettel has gained more than a Million followers as of the time that this article was written. I am speculating that the driver will hit the 2 Million follower mark by Free Practice 2 tomorrow.

It is a big surprise to everyone and especially his fans that Sebastian Vettel decided to join Social media as he was not in favour of it for so many years. He even stated this back in 2017-

“I just don’t understand why you have to constantly tell everyone…” Sebastian Vettel on using Social Media

“I just don’t understand why you have to constantly tell everyone what you are doing, where you are, who you are with. I simply don’t have this need, but at the same time I don’t blame people if they are constantly talking about themselves. I think I grew up in a generation that was quite shy of having pictures taken or seeing themselves” he said in the past.

With Sebastian Vettel’s account already verified on Instagram, we know for sure that he’s the real deal. The German Driver’s fans were ecstatic to see their icon joining social media and were happier than ever. We finally got to know what his intentions were to join social media. For those who don’t know, Sebastian Vettel announced in a video that he posted on his instagram account that he will be retiring from the sport after this season.

With media day for the Hungarian Grand Prix happening today, we will get to hear more about his decision to join social media and learn more about his big career changing decision from Sebastian Vettel himself.
