It’s been a torrid start to the campaign for Lewis Hamilton as Mercedes has not been able to get on top of their well documented ‘porpoising’ issues. Despite two podiums to his name, the seven time world champion has not enjoyed his time behind the wheel of that W-13. We have been used to see Lewis Hamilton dominate races and championships in the past but he has been far off the pace.

It needed some help from the FIA to reduce the problems suffered from that bouncing car. Despite of that, Mercedes doesn’t look like the team which looks ready to fight with the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari at the top of the grid. It’s a damage limitation of season in which Mercedes would like to save face and take home the third place and build on from there for the next season.

Despite of what’s happening on the track, Lewis Hamilton has decided to take it chill off it as he goes surfing during his off week before his home race. The Brit showed off some impressive skills on the board and looked far more comfortable on than behind that W-13. He was also seen enjoying his time with his dog, Roscoe, as he we longboarding with him through the streets.

We are less than a week away from the much awaited British GP and let’s hope this can rejuvenate Lewis Hamilton. He definitely looked better after the Canadian GP. In his post race interview, he said, “I think we’re better in medium and high-speed corners probably, than we are in the low-speed corners.”

“But we have bouncing, so I don’t know how it’s going to be through Copse and all those places.  think there’s lots of learnings from this weekend, and improvements that we can make moving forwards.

“I really hope, moving to Silverstone… it’s such an important race for us and for me and so I really hope that… I just want to be in a battle [with Red Bull and Ferrari].”

Mercedes is way off when we compare it to the blistering pace of Red Bull and Ferrari but they still need to keep chipping away at the points before teams behind them start pressurizing them and for that, it’s imperative for Lewis Hamilton to perform.
