Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, expressed his confidence that Lewis Hamilton will conclude his racing career with the Mercedes F1 team. He emphasizes that it’s hard to imagine Hamilton competing for another team. The Austrian even claimed that Hamilton could transition into a leadership role within the team, possibly becoming a Team Principal or even a CEO of an F1 team.

The 2023 season has been marked by speculation surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s future, including rumors connecting the seven-time World Champion to a potential move to Ferrari earlier this year. However, this speculation came to rest as Mercedes officially confirmed that the Englishman would continue with the team until the conclusion of the 2025 season. Additionally, his teammate, George Russell, who joined the team at the beginning of 2022, extended his stay.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports (H&T: Silver Arrows.net), Wolff discussed sponsorships and future involvement with Hamilton. He also mentioned that they discussed a long-term partnership or collaboration involving sponsorships. He said, “We spoke about our sponsorships and how he will still be involved in the future.”

This is why it took a long time to sign the contract. He will end his career with us because I can’t see him in another team. I think he can become a Team Principal or CEO; he has the right skills and personality. Lewis shaped this sport, and he will remain in Formula 1,” Wolff concluded.

Toto Wolff labeled Max Verstappen’s record of ten consecutive victories ‘irrelevant’

During an intriguing Monza GP weekend, Max Verstappen found himself in an intense battle for track positions with Carlos Sainz during the opening 15 laps of the race. Verstappen secured his 10th consecutive race victory at the Italian Grand Prix, surpassing Sebastian Vettels previous record of nine consecutive wins, establishing a remarkable new record for the most successive wins in Formula 1 history.

However, this remarkable achievement was somewhat downplayed by Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, who commented, “It’s for Wikipedia, nobody reads that anyway,” seemingly downplaying the significance of Max Verstappen’s historic 10th consecutive race victory at the Italian Grand Prix.

Speaking in a separate media session, Wolff claims that he did not know the record existed before he was asked about it. “We just talked about it; for me, these types of record are completely irrelevant,” he added.

Damon Hill, the 1996 Formula 1 World Champion, suggested that Toto Wolff’s dismissal of Max Verstappen’s historic 10th consecutive win reflects his discomfort with Red Bull’s current dominance in the sport.
