Charles Leclerc current Ferrari driver and a 2022 title contender, called Lewis Hamilton an “8” time world champion, which he quickly realised and did change his statement to a 7 time which stands as the right one. Twitter got hold of the mistake the Red Bull competitor made and marked that as a “Red Bull fraud”.

2021 was a fantastic year in terms of views, commercial publicity, audience back on track and a wonderful title fight with a total of 6 race winners. But the battle on the heads of everyone was between the Championship rivals, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The season went along with both of them exchanging their places for the lead, with Max winning it in the end. However, the victory wasn’t a sweet one for the 24-year-old.

With both the rivals entering the final arena on equal points, it was the one finishing ahead and winning the title. Abu Dhabi 2021 had a controversial ending, with the bending of the rules that crowned Max as the winner, said to be a fraud world champion.

With Charles’ mistake in the interview, things could tangle between the title rivals of the 2022 season. Max and Charles had amazing fights throughout the first 9 races of the season, with Max now leading the championship with 49 points, the season is long enough to see the positions change.

Lewis early mentioned his support for the Italian team, and with Charles Leclerc clearing out things, both the drivers look to have a great relationship along the line. Both the drivers have had battles, including the famous Monza 2019 GP.

For the next race being held in Silverstone, let’s get back to the incidents that took place in 2021, the lap 1 collision between the rivals, Max and Lewis, took the Red Bull driver out of the equation with a 51 G crash, and gave front wing damage to the Mercedes, and soon we saw Charles leading the race. It was the case until the last few laps when Lewis overtook the Ferrari for the win and again lead the championship.

We could expect the same this year as well, with Charles and Max already up for the win, Lewis in his Mercedes could turn the cards and might fight for his 9th win in his backyard.
