“We must keep pressure off,” Guenther Steiner cautions Haas after Mick Schumacher’s first F1 points

Haas' performance has been great this season and they hope for much more to come.

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner

Guenther Steiner, Haas F1 team principal, gave out his thoughts over Mick Schumacher getting his first points in his career. After almost one and a half years, Schumacher managed a top 10 position, with a very possible car last season but a great car this season. In the account of bad luck, engine reliability and his own mistakes he didn’t manage points finish all along this season but did it finally in the 10th round of the 2022 season.

Mick Schumacher was criticized all way long for his mistakes this season, to a point that even rumours for his replacement took over the internet. But his first points came out in a fashionable manner, him fighting with Max Verstappen till the line for his P7 position but ending on P8 on the very last lap.

“The expectation shouldn’t be that he scores every race and then if he doesn’t score, he’s being critiqued again,” said Steiner.

Haas now has 20 points to their name and are P8 in the championship, they managed double points finish in England and are very much fighting for the P7 position in the championship to the Alpha Tauris. Kevin Magnussen has scored 16 out of the 20 points and is now accompanied by his teammate Mick.

I think this can give him a boost. And the good thing is that now, with the Austrian Grand Prix, there is another race weekend coming up soon where he can build on this strong performance. I am very happy for him,” Timo Glock wrote.
