Fans of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal criticise Novak Djokovic for his participation at the US Open

There seems to be no respite for Novak Djokovic from his haters. Recently, the 33-year old confirmed his participation in the forthcoming Cincinnati Masters and the US Open. While many people were really happy after this announcement, there were also some critics who condemned his decision. Some netizens reposted Djokovic’s tweet and wrote absurd comments and even abused him.
How come you are not ashamed: Critics
Most of the haters of Novak Djokovic are either fans of Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal. Federer and Nadal both have withdrawn their names from the above mentioned events due to different reasons. While the Swiss maestro is recuperating from knee surgery, the Spaniard has given his health a priority amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Djokovic has decided to play, notwithstanding the prevailing condition in America. That’s where the fans of Federer and Nadal have lashed out on the Serb. Many of these fans think that Novak is using this opportunity to grab a ‘free’ slam and come closer to the other two. There are also some people who have just tried to insult the 17-time Grand Slam winner.
It is not the first time this year that the Serb is facing the flak. In June, he organized the controversial Adria Tour in Belgrade. That time, even the tennis fraternity lashed out at him for organising the tennis tournament amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Novak himself, along with many others were found corona positive during the event.
However, this time around the criticism is baseless and all Djokovic has to do is to ignore these hatred comments. Rather, he should focus on a good showing in the upcoming tournaments in New York.
