Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic was praised for his brilliant display against Bayer Leverkusen, scoring a goal in a 1-1 draw.

Fans showered praise on Bayern Munich starlet Aleksandar Pavlovic for his brilliant display against Bayer Leverkusen, during a 1-1 showdown between the two clubs, at the Allianz Arena. The 20-year-old midfielder scored the much-needed equalizer for his side. 

Pavlovic has been a revelation since making his debut for the club in October 2023, coming through the ranks of the Bayern Munich academy. He made 22 appearances last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists, before signing a contract until 2029. Regarded as one of the best under-21 midfielders of the generation, Pavlovic has often been seen as a successor of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos. The midfielder has also sealed a place in the club’s starting XI, over Leon Goretzka.

Against the reigning Bundesliga champions, Pavlovic equalized with a stunning strike into the top right corner from outside the box, past goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky. It marked his first goal of the current season. The defensive midfielder, against Leverkusen, had a Man of the Match outing, as he recorded 101 touches, 90 percent passing accuracy and provided seven long balls. He also attempted four duels, and two tackles, playing a pivotal role in the club’s defense.

Meanwhile, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, who has enjoyed a brilliant start to life in Germany, also praised Pavlovic’s performances. Pavlovic also made his debut for the German national team recently, scoring a goal during the team’s 5-0 win over Hungary.

Bayern Munich supporters took to social media to heap praise on academy product Aleksandar Pavlovic, after the 20-year-old midfielder scored a stunner against Bayer Leverkusen. They backed the German international to shine at the club, as well as attain legendary status.

One fan stated that the midfielder is the club’s best product over the last 15 years. Another compared him to the likes of former midfielder, Toni Kroos, while also noting that the young midfielder would replace the former Real Madrid legend, who recently retired, in the Germany line-up. A few others praised Pavlovic’s positioning as well as skills, while also backing him to start over other midfielders.

Pavlovic has not been the only rising youngster at Bayern, with youngsters Jamal Musiala, new signing Michael Olise and Mathys Tel also being praised for their recent performances.
