IPL is most attended and most awaiting event. In this there are eight teams which represents eight different cities of India. It has ranked 6th in the most attending sports in the world. IPL has also contributed to GDP of the country and the amount is Rs 11.5 billion.

IPL started in 2008 and the have been twelve seasons till now. Mumbai Indians is most successful team in IPL who won it four times in 2013,15,17 and 2019. Chennai super kings has won it three times.

The different players who played and coached the same team are:

Stephen Fleming (Chennai Super Kings)

Stephen Fleming went on to play 10 matches in 2008-09 and his last match was against Kolkata Knight Riders. Then he was appointed as the coach for his team. The Chennai Super Kings is one of most successful team over all these years as they have won 3 trophies.

Ricky Ponting (Mumbai Indians)

He has been the part of two franchisee i.e Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians and had played 10 matches. After seeing his smart cricketing mind Mumbai Indians appointed him as a head coach. He remained coach for two seasons 2015 and 2016.

Daniel Vettori (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

He had played for Delhi Daredevils and for Royal Challengers Bangalore, he has played 34 matches. RCB roped him as a coach in 2014 and that lasted till 2018. Vettori was the captain of RCB in 2011 and 2012 seasons. He was replaced as a coach because of poor performance by the team.

Jacques Kallis (Kolkata Knight Riders)

There were talks that he is not a fit for IPL but after playing 98 matches he proved the critics wrong. He was named the head coach in 2015 after the Trevor Bayliss. But when team again fails to make it in top four he decided to leave this position after the 2019 edition.

Brendon McCullum (Kolkata Knight Riders)

He is one of the best player of IPL and played 109 matches. He made IPL first match memorable with 158 not out in 2008, his innings remain one of the best ever. After Kallis stepped down in 2019 he has been named as the head coach of the team for 2020.
