Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are finally back to winning football matches after their horrific start to the season. The Gunners lost their first 3 games of the Premier League and were bottom of the table at the end August. This was their worst start in the Premier League era and the Gunners failed to score a single goal in those first 3 games.

Arsenal Board backed Arteta in the summer transfer window by spending around $150 million. The Gunners signed youngsters such as Aaron Ramsdale, Nuno Tavares, Martin Odegaard, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. It was a big ask for these young players to settle into the squad quickly but after a few setbacks in the start, they have finally started performing to their best.

Arsenal have been revitalised since their opening 3 defeats and have now won 10 of their last 15 matches. That has seen them going from the bottom of the table to an impressive 4th place ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Mikel Arteta‘s Arsenal has finally been performing to the level that was expected by the fans at the start of the season. The Gunners have the youngest squad in the Premier League and more than half of their goals this season have been scored by players under the age of 23.

That is quite an impressive stat considering there is lack of experience in the squad. But new signings have definitely helped their cause. New signing Aaron Ramsdale has been touted as one of the contenders for their Player of the Season so far with Martin Odegaard and Ben White performing well consistently.

These new signings and the other young players have helped rise to 4th in the League. However, Mikel Arteta suggested that he could spend even more in the upcoming transfer window to boost his chances of winning a trophy this season.

In his latest press conference, Arteta said,” If you can tweak what you need to in that period, which is not easy, it would be really helpful.”

The French manager also added,” We are working on that to see the necessities we can have and whether we can find the right solutions.”

The Gunners have been performing well on the pitch but things aren’t so smooth off the pitch. Arsenal striker was recently stripped off the club captaincy role after continuous disciplinary breaches. The star striker has just signed a new contract at the club last year, but it seems like his stay now will be short after continuous omission from the matchday squad by Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal’s other experience striker Alexandre Lacazette is also out of contract in the summer and there is no indication that the Frenchman will sign a new one considering there has been lack of game time for him.

Arsenal’s academy player Eddie Nketiah has also publicly stated that he wants to leave the club in the summer after he as not been given a run of games for the first team during Arteta’s time. The Gunners have offered him a new contract but the young striker is refusing to sign it as no game time is promised.

Arsenal have been linked heavily with Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been in an insane form. The Serbian has been scoring goals for fun in the Serie A and is linked with all the top clubs in the world. The striker is still very young so he is yet to reach his full potential.
