Barcelona have been dealt with a major blow as their starkid Ansu Fati has been forced off with an injury during Blaugrana’s La Liga Matchday 13 clash against Celta Vigo at the Balaidos.

Barcelona confirmed the arrival of Xavi as their new manager after sacking Dutch manager Ronald Koeman. They surged into a three-goal lead within the first 34 minutes away at Celta Vigo. 

Barca got off to a solid start against Celta Vigo, and it was Ansu Fati who opened the scoring with a beautiful goal just five minutes into the game. With a superb attempt, the youngster had opened the scoring for Barcelona at Balaidos, netting his fourth goal of the season.

Sergio Busquets then netted a second strike in the 18th minute, followed by Memphis Depay’s third goal in the 35th minute. Barca fans were overjoyed with their team’s performance, but Fati’s recent injury would have dampened the atmosphere. He appeared to strain a muscle while chasing the ball as he crumpled, grasping the back of his leg, and seemed to be in pain.

Fati made his comeback from a long-term injury a little over a month ago, although he missed a number of games due to knee problems before returning for Barcelona’s 1-0 triumph against Dynamo Kyiv. The extent of his recent injury is yet to be assessed, and no official revelation has been made.

Ansu Fati’s return has been a major boost for Barcelona but now his injury could prove to be a big blow for them as they are going through a transition phase. Barcelona would suffer a setback if he were to miss the match against Benfica on November 23, which is crucial to their ambitions of reaching the Champions League knockout rounds.

Also, the injury to the youngster could prove to be a setback to the Spain national team, who will play against Greece on 12th November during the international break.
