Chelsea launch new kit ahead of the FA Cup and Champions League finals

Ahead of the crucial games in Premier League as well as FA Cup and Champions League finals, Chelsea have launched a new jersey. The Stamford Bridge based outfit launched a new jersey on Thursday. The new kit is inspired by the changing face of capital of the United Kingdom, London, in 1960s.

The men’s team will feature in the kit for the first time on May 15th at Wembley when they go up against Leicester City whereas the women team will feature with the new kit against Barcelona on May 16th in Women’s Champions League finals.

How is the new kit designed by Nike?

As said earlier, the jersey inspired by the London in its development period, i.e, in 1960s. During 1960s, London took huge strides in terms of music, culture and fashion. During that period, there was a revolution terms of music, fashion and culture. To commemorate the journey and the development, the London based development boasts more vibrant blue colour as well as the Optical Art (Op Art). Optical Art was popularised in the late 1960s in London and UK.

The club has also induced the mesmerizing design in the shorts as well. The designers, Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley, have created the stark geometric designs which has the capability to confuse the opposition. The wavy design also symbolizes the fresh players coming through the setup.
