It is always a slight hint of doubt if any player would succeed at Premier League football given the playing style of it. Thiago Silva at 37 years old certainly had alot to prove and the Brazilian has made an exceptional start to his life at Chelsea winning the Champions League last season.Thomas Tuchel and the members at Chelsea are ‘super happy’ with the defensive performances of Thiago Silva. It is no surprise that he is set to stay with the West London outfit for two more years. Silva has been an integral part and ‘heart’ of defence alongside Antonio Rudiger since Thomas Tuchel took charge in January 2020.

Reports suggest that it is just a ‘matter of time’ that the Brazilian signs a two year extension deal. Thiago Silva staying for two more years will help Chelsea giving them enough time to find a replacement for the 37 year old. Also with the uncertainty over the future of Antonio Rudiger. If the German international is to leave at the end of the season at Chelsea will have Thiago Silva’s experience and composure. His was amongst the goals in their 3-2 loss against West Ham United. He also made a goal-line clearance in that game.
