The transfer season has taken everyone by surprise and is throwing some interesting twists. Arsenal winger Willian is considering a move away from Arsenal with Brazilian club Corinthians interested in signing the 33-year-old.

Last season the Brazilian signed a 3-year contract with the gunners as he made a free transfer from Chelsea but failed to make an impact due to poor form which has prompted the club to cut his pay for the remainder of the agreement. According to a source Willian was approached by Corinthians and the club is in talks to bring the winger into its ranks.

There were talks that maybe Willian might not make an exit from European football so early but as per recent reports the former Chelsea FC player might make a move to Brazil. Some sources have clarified that the discussions are going on in full swing between the player as well as the club’s higher authorities.

Although there is no final clarification about the details of the agreement the Corinthians will go all out to buy the winger. It’s still not clear whether Willian will make a move on a free transfer but Arsenal might still try to convince him to stay at the club for a while until they find a suitable replacement.

The striker was paid 190000 pounds a week and Arsenal higher-ups, as well as manager Mikel Arteta, have added fresh faces this season to create a bench strength for the future who could provide long term productivity and so the club might offload him sooner or later.

Joining Corinthians could be tricky in the initial stages as the Brazilian might find it difficult to settle in that system and the pay package won’t be as shining as the current one offered by Arsenal FC. Lucas Torreira, Hector Bellerin and Eddie Nketiah would be making a move in the future and with Willian making an exit Arteta could be forced to find replacements for his future project.

How would Corinthians benefit from Willian’s style of play ?

Corinthians higher-ups as well as manager Sylvinho would be eager to cash in on this opportunity. Willian could be the source who could light up the team’s intensity. The 33-year-old can play in multiple positions as he could be employed as an attacking midfielder as well as a winger.

The Brazilian can outrun the opposition with his lightning pace and acceleration. Willian can destabilize the opposition’s defence with his counter-attacking prowess. Willian’s game is a combination of skilful trickery and speed.
