“Hit the ground running,” Dusan Vlahovic scores on his Champions League debut for Juventus inside 32 seconds against Villarreal

Dusan Vlahovic continued his golden streak in front of goal to score his first goal in the Champions League for Juventus.

Talking about dream starts, Dusan Vlahovic is certainly enjoying his start to life at his new club Juventus following his big-money move from Fiorentina this winter. The Serbian striker has started to make headlines yet again after he continued his goal-scoring prowess for the Old Lady in the Champions League.

Dusan Vlahovic scored stunningly inside the first 32 seconds of the match, to grab himself a Champions League debut goal and give his side the lead against the Spanish side, Villarreal in their first leg tie of the UEFA Champions League.

Dusan Vlahovic became the third Juventus player to score on his Champions League debut

Vlahovic’s goal resulted from the easiest of plays from the Juventus backline, as Danilo floated in a long ball for the forward to chase. The ball fell nicely for the Serbian, who took it a bit wide to escape the shadows of the Villarreal defenders and thundered a strike on the half volley to nestle it into the bottom right corner, past the outstretched hands of Geronimo Rulli in goal.

The goal came after 32 seconds, which made Vlahovic only the third-ever Juventus player to score on their Champions League debut, in the entire history of the club. Dusan Vlahovic had also scored on his league debut against Hellas Verona after his €75m move from the Italian club, Fiorentina.

Juventus have since then held a strong hold over the ball but would be disappointed at not having tested Rulli more, despite all of their dominance of the ball. A second goal for the Old Lady would surely kill off the game, and along with that almost put it in their grasp for a quarter-final berth.
