In light of the recent event, Manchester City willing to sign Ronaldo, a very old comment of Gerrard Pique from 2016 has come back to the surface, where he once said that his love for Manchester United is so big that he will never join Manchester City irrespective of the situation.

Gerrard Pique used to play for the Red Devils from the year 2004 to 2008 after which he moved back to Barcelona. During his time in Manchester United Pique played 23 matches and scored 2 goals.

After moving back to Barcelona in 2008 he became one of the most important players of the club. In 2016 when Pep Guardiola took over Manchester City as their head coach, one of the targets that he wanted to sign in the club was Gerrard Pique. “My love for Manchester United is too big to let me even consider signing for City one day, even with Guardiola in charge,” Pique said to Periscope in 2016.

With Ronaldo signing for Manchester City this comment has appeared again, as Cristiano Ronaldo started to bloom to what he is now from Manchester United. Ronaldo has scored a total of 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils.
