Indian Super League: How could Hyderabad FC Lineup in the 2021/22 season?

The Indian Super League is again back this season with some exciting action on the pitch as 11 teams battle out for that Golden ISL Trophy of 2021/22 season. 

Let us have a look at the probable lineup of Hyderabad FC for the 2021/22 season of the Indian Super League. Hyderabad under the management of Manuel Marquez Roca came very near to qualify for the playoffs of the competition as they finished in the fifth place with just two points short behind FC Goa. 

Hyderabad FC: Probable Lineup

Goalkeeper- Laxmikant Kattimani

Laxmikant Kattimani rose from the ranks of local Goan club Vasco and went on to play for Dempo with whom he won two I-League titles. Laxmikant was signed by FC Goa on loan in the inaugural season of ISL where he was the first choice keeper and helped the Gaurs to reach the finals in 2015. The Goalie is currently signed with Hyderabad FC where played a major part in their great performance in 2020/21 season. 

Right Back- Asish Rai

Asish Rai began his youth career from the academy of FC Pune City from where he was signed by Indian Arrows in 2017. The defender proved himself as strong and agile as he played in the right back position, and was signed by Hyderabad FC before the start of 2019/20 season. He went on to become a key figure in Hyderabad FC’s squad and was a starter for the club in the ISL.

Centre Back- Chinglensana Singh

Chinglensana Singh made his youth appearance with Mahindra United and went to play for Shillong Lajon later on in the I-League. With Delhi Dynamos he made his ISL debut on a loan stint and proved to be an exceptional signing. He also played for FC Goa later on in 2017 and is now currently tied up to Hyderabad FC as he proved to be a vital pivot at the back for Hyderabad’s great performance last season. 

Centre Back- Juanan

The Spanish centre back began his youth career in the ranks of San Pedro and RCD Mallorca and went to join Real Madrid Castilla in 2009. In 2016 he made his debut in ISL with Bengaluru FC and helped them to reach the AFC Cup final, the first ever for any Indian club. Juanan was an integral part of the Blues in their 2018/19 season where they went on to dominate and win the ISL trophy. Hyderabad FC signed the centre back at the start of the season on a one year deal where he will be looking to take his new club towards the road of glory.

Left Back- Akash Mishra

Akash Mishra rose up through the ranks of U Dream Academy and was eventually signed by Indian Arrows in 2017 where he made his professional debut against Shillong Lajong in I-League. Hyderabad FC alongside other two Arrows player signed Akash Mishra in 2020 as the left back went on to prove himself as the best and made a place for himself in the first eleven. 

Defensive Midfielder- Souvik Chakrabarti

Souvik Chakrabarti began his career in the youth academy of Mohun Bagan as he went on to represent the I-League further ahead in the year also. He made his ISL debut with Delhi Dynamos where he spent a loan stint of three seasons and proved to be an effective anchor at the centre, helping the club to make the playoffs for two consecutive times. He has also played for Jamshedpur and Mumbai City until 2020 after which he was signed by Hyderabad FC where he was a part of the squad where they finished fifth, just two points short from the fourth place.

Defensive Midfielder- João Victor

João Victor, the Brazilian defensive midfielder began his youth career in Náutico. He has spent some time playing in the Spanish league for RCD Mallorca where he quite an impressive stint. Recently he is tied to Hyderabad FC and Captains’ the side as a veteran player on the field. 

Attacking Midfielder- Edu García

The Spanish attacking midfielder began his early career from the youth setup of Real Zargoza. He made his ISL debut with Bengaluru FC in 2017 and later on came back to join ATK in 2019 where he won the ISL trophy and also helped the club in the following season into the finals where they lost to Mumbai City. In 2021, the Spaniard was signed by Hyderabad FC on a one year deal. 

Right Wing- Joel Chianese

The Australian winger grew up from the youth ranks of Sydney FC and spent a considerable amount of time in the A-League, proving himself as a capable forward. Joel was signed by Hyderabad in 2020 where he played 12 matches and scored 3 goals and assisted 1 before moving into a loan stint to Perth and returning before the start of the 2021/22 season of ISL. 

Central Forward- Bartholomew Ogbeche

Bartholomew Ogbeche, the Nigerian striker was a youth product of the French club Paris Saint Germain. He was signed by NorthEast United in 2018 where he proved to be an excellent striker, later on joining Kerala Blasters in 2019 and becoming their all top highest scorer. He is currently the third highest scorer in the history of Indian Super League. Hyderabad FC recently signed the 37 year old striker to improve their forward line and become a deadly team in this year’s competition. 

Left Wing- Aniket Jadhav

Aniket Jadhav was a part of the AIFF elite academy from where he went on to join the trial of Blackburn Rovers. He is an excellent winger and has recently signed with the Hyderabad FC to provide agility and strength in the forward line, as they aim to win their maiden trophy this campaign.
