Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is reportedly unhappy with his club manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments of asking him to prioritize football. The 22-year old recently returned to action in the Premier League after his lengthy lay-off due to a shoulder injury, which kept him out of football post the EURO 2020.

After coming on as a substitute against Leicester City this weekend, he made an immediate impact and scored the equalizer for United, before the Foxes went on to score 2 more goals and the goal had little significance.

However, Rashford has been busy off the field, after he led a campaign to end child poverty in England during the Covid-19 pandemic. His efforts were lauded by one and all and he also convinced the British government to continue to provide free meals to students all across the country.

Recognizing the work done by Marcus Rashford, he was awarded the MBE in 2020 and also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester this month.

“I know that we’ll see the best of Marcus in the years to come,” Solskjaer said in a press conference before the match against Leicester City.

“He’s done remarkable things at a young age, but he’s now coming into the best age for a footballer. He’s learning, getting more experienced and he’s time to reflect on, you know, what he’s done off the pitch as well because he’s done some fantastic things.”

However, the United manager’s comments have drawn severe flak ever since the match, and now according to leading news outlet Athletic, sources close to the striker are unhappy with Solskjaer’s comments.
