5 teams who have won the most number of Europa League titles in football history

Take a look at the most successful clubs in the history of the competition.

The Europa League

The Union Of European Football Associations (UEFA) organizes an annual football club competition called the Europa League (UEFA). After the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League is regarded as the second most significant international club competition. The clubs qualify for the tournament depending on their results in their respective national leagues and cup tournaments.

The tournament was formerly known as the UEFA Cup from 1970 to 2009 when it underwent a format change and became recognized as the Europa League. The final has been conducted as a single match since 1996; formerly, the winning team was determined by a home and away series.  The most victories have been achieved by Spanish clubs, followed by England and Italy.
