French players like Lucas Hernandez and Kante got injured days before the tournament began. It is being reported that no other additional player will be added for the final stage of the competition.

There have been players injured and Karim was one of them. Since that time, I have had 24 players to look after. Asking this question is clumsy in regards to them.” French manager Didier Deschamps said. Karim Benzema posted a picture on his Instagram saying, “I am not interested“; most likely referring to the invitation from Macron.

Didier Deschamps chose not to replace Karim Benzema after reports of his injury circulated. Olivier Giroud turned out to be the #9 France needed in this tournament, and the striker scored 2 goals in the tournament till now.
