“Real Madrid means everything for me”- Luka Modric reacts after winning the Marca Leyenda award

Luka Modric wins the Marca Leyenda award in an award show where he spoke about his love for Real Madrid and confirms he will stay in Madrid. Let's have a look at what he said after winning the prestigious accolade.

According to a recent interview, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric wins the Marca Leyenda award for his contributions to the Los Blancos over the years since 2013 when he joined the Spanish capital side from Tottenham. He has become a key player for Real Madrid over the years in various situations when his side faces problems or is on the verge to lose the game. The 36-year-old Croat won the accolade in an award ceremony that took place at the Casino de Madrid on Wednesday.

Luka Modric will be signing a new contract at Real Madrid which will see him stay till June 2023 after which he will decide on his future on retiring or continuing to his abilities. His key pass to Rodrygo in the UCL round of 16 is one of the best assists in the history of football which helped Real Madrid play the final of the UCL this season. Modric has been a steady presence in the Spanish midfield over the past decade, scoring 22 goals and providing 48 assists.

Luka Modric said, “Real Madrid means everything for me. Real Madrid is my home. I’m happy. I feel part of this club and I’m a Madridista, forever”.

“I’m grateful for the affection the fans give me and they show it every day. I try to give everything every time I put on the shirt to return this affection. The 36-year-old Ballon d’Or winner in 2018 is on the verge of yet another champions league glory for the Los Blancos as they will face Liverpool in Paris for the final battle. He contributed with 12 assists this season and 2 goals but his presence is the most important part he carries in his trait. As a Madridista, he has won four Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, three LaLiga crowns, one Copa del Rey, and four Spanish Super Cups. In 2018, he was also awarded the Ballon d’Or. The win in Paris over Liverpool will ensure the fifth champions league glory for the Croatian legend.
