Dani Carvajal has just finished one of his most successful seasons at Real Madrid, winning the Champions League and the La Liga. Spain right-back spoke with AS about the club’s recruitment policy, Karim Benzema and the Ballon d’Or, Vinicius, Carlo Ancelotti, and his impending wedding.
During this interview, the presenter questioned about no right-backs being linked with the Los Blancos and how hard it is to nail down a place in the Real Madrid squad let alone for a decade on which Carvajal replied that there should be a proper blend of young and experience as which could be seen in the current Merengus squad.
“It’s never easy, especially when your performance isn’t as expected. The club wants to strengthen the squad and it’s logical that they try to sign young people. The years go by for everyone and the club is doing a fantastic job. With Vinicius, Rodrygo, Camavinga, Asensio in his day with everyone.” Carvajal explained.
“He is signing people with experience like Rüdiger or David (Alaba), who have arrived for free. Or like Tchouaméni. Beyond the fact that the future is guaranteed, the result to date today you can see it. The club continues to win, with these young people this is going up and I think that in that sense we can be calm,” Carvajal added to Real Madrid’s recent recruitment strategy.
Dani Carvajal praised Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s managerial skills in a recent interview
Dani Carvajal was full of praises for Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti and believes that being a footballer in the past helps him more to understand players whether they are regular in the squad or just a benchwarmer. “Facing the group, he is a leader, a reference for everyone, every time he speaks, everyone uses all five senses to listen and understand him.”
“He achieves harmony in those who play more, and those who play less, he tries to understand everyone. He’s been a footballer and he knows that not playing is not an ideal situation. He’s a great coach and knows how to set up games, but he stands out in the way he treats the players,” he added about former Roma and AC Milan player.
