On Friday, Pogba flew in after having followed his anticipated homecoming a few hours earlier. From the luxury of his own plane, he wrote “see you soon” and “PogAlmostBack” on social media. By the beginning of the next week, that promise may materialize.

After 157 Premier League games for Man United, where he tallied 29 goals and provided assists on another 38, Pogba departs the club. This summer’s breakup served the interests of both parties best as they prepare to remake themselves for the following season.
