“You take him out of the team, top four is not happening for Tottenham Hotspurs”- Paul Merson on Harry Kane
In a recent interview, former English footballer Paul Merson explained the heroics of Tottenham Hotspurs’ talisman, Harry Kane. He said that without him, Tottenham is not going to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Merson further stressed Harry Kane is the “man to take Tottenham to the top four” in the Premier League. He seemed certain that if Kane plays all the games left for Tottenham, he can destroy the hopes of Arsenal and Manchester United of sealing a top-four finish.
“When Harry Kane’s playing like he is, I don’t think too many teams are going to beat Tottenham. But you take him out of the team, top four is not happening for Spurs,” said Paul Merson.
“When Harry Kane’s playing like he is, I don’t think too many teams are going to beat them. I saw him go to the Etihad and rip Manchester City apart. I saw him rip West Ham apart, I saw him rip Newcastle apart”, added Merson.
Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, and West Ham are all in the fight for a direct place in the Champions League next season. Tottenham is the favorite to finish in the top four, Merson thinks. Tottenham has been the better team with Harry Kane’s performance being at the top.

Arsenal faced a hurdle in the race to the top four spots as they were defeated by Crystal Palace last Monday. Although they have played a game less than Tottenham, who currently has the same points as Arsenal, Tottenham can easily overtake them if they beat them in their face-off.
Manchester United is also a contender but their internal problems and problematic situations in the dressing room can possibly end their hope of finishing in the top four. The Red Devils need something very special from their old boy, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is capable of turning everything on their heads.
