The Norwegian manager also called wants his players to take lessons from heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, to return to winning form, in what will be a very important fixture for his future at the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future has been questioned repeatedly after the string of poor results

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer compared United’s first-half performance against Liverpool, where they conceded 3 goals to that of a punch drunk boxer inside the ring, but acknowledged the fact that they could not bounce back like boxers (Tyson Fury), who remains extremely calm and handles the situation well.

Tyson Fury, who is a Manchester lad himself was down and out in his first fight of the trilogy against Deontay Wilder but made a dramatic return to avoid defeat.

“We conceded a goal and we wanted to sort it out and went a bit too open, too frantic against a good team,” Solskjaer said.

“You see Tyson Fury when he gets knocked down a couple of times. It is remarkable how calm and composed he is when the count gets to six, seven, eight, and he gets up and he’s ready to go again. Minds have to be better.”

“You have to hold hands up and that performance is not acceptable, and we have to look at why it was not acceptable,” the United manager said.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also took all of the responsibility for United’s dismal performances in the past couple of weeks, which has seen them drop down to 7th in the Premier League even after their dream start this season.

“It’s my job to put the players in the right frame of mind. I’m responsible for the reaction, for the result, for the performance, and we’ve worked on the pitch on everything that needs to be sorted.

“That’s not just one bit, it’s not just frame of mind. It’s the game plan, tactics, technically. We’ve had a good week and I feel the boys are ready to give their best.”
