Real Madrid have reportedly made up their mind to finally offload Spanish midfielder Isco this summer, and have a well thought out move ready for him. Los Blancos are looking to offer a cash plus player deal to Premier League club, Leicester City in a bid to sign one of their most promising defenders Wesley Fofana in the next summer transfer window.

However, they will not have it easy, as the 20-year old French centre back has also drawn interest from Chelsea, who are also looking to sign a defender in case they have to let Antonio Rudiger leave for free in the same window.

Real Madrid have also targetted Antonio Rudiger as a possible signing next summer

Isco’s time at Real Madrid finally looks to be over

Isco has not had the best of times at Real Madrid in the recent seasons, where he has had to spend a lot of time on the sidelines with the coaches preferring the tried and tested trio of Kroos, Modric and Casemiro to be the first choice midfielders in the starting lineup. His last meaningful contribution to the club’s success came in the Champions League-winning season of 2016/17, in which he was a key cog for them in midfield.

This season he has only played a total of 176 minutes on the pitch, under Carlo Ancelotti and his time as a Real Madrid player finally seems to be running out.

Real Madrid’s interest in Wesley Fofana stems from the fact that they want to reinforce the defence following the departure of Varane and Ramos last summer.

Although they have listed Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger as a possible free signing as well next summer, if he does not renew with the club. However, they might also look at Wesley Fofana as a viable second choice option which will also serve two purposes, letting go of Isco, who had joined the club way back in 2013.
