Venezia were beaten 3-1 by Sassuolo away from home. Venezia made a flying start as they took the lead through David Okereke. However the lead lasted just five minutes as Domenico Berardi scored a great goal after going past 4 Venezia players before firing a shot. Unfortunately Thomas Henry headed into his own net from a Sassuolo corner kick as the home side completed the turn around. Davide Frattesi confirmed the three points after he added a third goal for his side.

Sitting bottom of the table Salernitana suffered a 4-2 defeat at home against Empoli. The visitors ran away with the game in the first 15 minutes of the game as Andrea Pinamonti, Patrick Cutrone and an own goal by Salernitana’s Stefan Strandberg saw them lead 3-0. Stefan and Salernitana’s game went from bad to worse in the added time of first half after the defender fouled Pinamonti in the penalty area, with striker successfully converting from the spot to take a 4-0 lead at halftime.

A much better performance in the second half from the home side saw them score pull two goals back early on as Luca Ranieri and an own goal by Ardian Ismajli own goal. However it was not enough in the end.
