To follow in the footsteps of one’s father when he is a renowned legend of the game is quite tough and not everytime or everyone enjoys that privilege. Sometimes, even the most deserved ones failed to secure a happy ending.

5. Rivaldinho

The son of the Brazilian and Barcelona legend Rivaldo who was known for his absolute world class gameplay and his renowned personality around the world which even got him the prestigious Ballon D’or and FIFA World Player of the Year in the year 1999.

Rivaldinho began his professional career with Mogi Mirim at the age of 19 where he played alongside his father and it was that historic 3-1 win against Macae in Serie B where all the goals were scored by the Rivaldo family.

Following his father’s retirement he suffered a lot and currently represents the Polish club Cracovia. To be honest more was expected from him because of his father’s legendary stature.

4. Calum Best

He is the son of one of the greatest players to ever kick a ball, George Best. His father is not only just a legendary player on the field but off the field, he was known for his charismatic personality and playboy skills as well.

In terms of Football he is remembered for his astonishing 11 years at Old Trafford. He was nicknamed “El Beatle ” after the famous English band. Callum Best never succeeded much in terms of football that is the reason why he turned towards show business.

He has showcased his football abilities in charity matches especially the recent one “My Tribute” in an honor of his father in 2019. Although he made a name of himself by starting in Celebrity Big Brother. However he failed to live up to his father’s football legacy.

3. Diego Sinagra

Diego Maradonna is the greatest player of all time. Nobody in the beautiful game could match his stature not then, or now and probably never ever will. He was often in the spotlight because of his off field controversies.

One of his love affairs resulted in Diego Sinagra his son in 1986, who admired his father a lot but Maradonna openly recognised him in 2007. Their physical resemblance was unmatched.

However in 2008, Sinagra went on to give up the classic 11-a-side game with beach football. He alongside Maradonna Jr. on the back of his jersey now plays professional beach football for the Italian sides most recently Lazio.

2. Edinho

The son of the “King of Football” Pele, who was highly regarded as the greatest of all time in the history of as he himself calls it “The Beautiful Game”.  Pele with his achievements and records speaks a lot about his legacy.

Edinho introduced himself to the Footballing World through Santos, following in the footsteps of his legendary father. At the age of 20, Edinho decided to become a goalkeeper, quite ironic.

He failed to fill in the heavy shoes of his father, by making only 24 appearances. Although he came back to the Brazilian club failing to book a place in the national team he retired aged 29 in 1999.

1 . Brooklyn Beckham

David Beckham is quite possibly one of the greats of the game. His career was loaded with achievements and stardom wherever he went in whichever part of the world. 

A perfect combination of looks and a footballing brain in a single body. David Beckham was simply a legendary right footed footballer. His son Brooklyn was in the limelight before his debut.

The reason is simple: he is the son of David and Victoria Beckham and whose godfather is Elton John. Brooklyn and his father shared the same pitch for the first time in 2015 in a charity match.

Although Brooklyn never managed to match his father’s legacy because of his not so great experience with the beautiful game. He finally decided to ironically follow the footsteps of her mother and went on to do modeling assignments.
