Ukraine Claims their first victory in Euro 2020 as they beat North Macedonia 2-1 after a fairly competitive show in the first game of group ‘C’ of Matchday . Yarmolenko put Ukraine ahead in the 29th minute by beating Dimitrievski with a side footed finish at the back post. Just after five mintues the Ukraine’s skipper help build up their second goal by receiving the ball wide on the right and finding Roman Yaremchuk who then paced into the penalty area and finished with a low shot in the near post. Shevchenko’s men looked very confident on the ball all over making slick moves and smooth passes as they dominated the match with 52% possesion registering 8 shots on target.
In the second half however Ezgjan Alioski the Leeds wing back help North Macedonia narrow the lead by converting a penalty on rebound, after their captain Goran Pandev was fouled inside the box on attempt to convert a goal from a brilliant shot on target. Ruslan Malinovsky also saw a spot kick saved in the dying minutes of the game as Ukraine now level with Austria in points in the group stage with an eye to reach the knockout stages.
