Manchester United have put up a perfect response in the second half after going down 1-0 in the 30th minute to Gerard Moreno’s strike. Edinson Cavani has rescued Manchester United yet again and United are now level against Villarreal in the Europa League final.

United started the second half with a much intensity than the first knowing they had to score early to bring back momentum to their side. United had a penalty shout turned down by the French referee and almost scored immediately seconds later to equalise.

It all results from a Bruno Fernandes pass into Mctominay who twisted and turned inside the Villarreal penalty box before shooting at goal. The strike took a deflection and went out for a United corner.

Luke Shaw took the resulting corner, which was initially cleared out by Villarreal’s defence but went out as far as Rashford who was right outside the penalty box.

The Englishman struck first time, and his shot was deflected to Mctominay who unknowingly deflected it into the path of Edinson Cavani.

Cavani reacted first and struck first time and scored the all important equaliser for Manchester United. United are banging on the Villarreal door for more but the Spanish side have held on well after conceding the early goal.
