Argentina National Team head coach Lionel Scaloni has confirmed in his press-conference ahead of their match against Brazil that Lionel Messi has recovered from his injury and he will be playing against the Selecao on 17th November.

“He was already good, physically and in the end we decided that it would be best for him to play a few minutes for him to come to this one with a good feeling. It’s confirmed that Lionel Messi will play tomorrow, “ said the coach.

The Argentine maestro suffered a minor injury during the Ligue 1 match between PSG and LOSC Lille which kept him away from the field for over a week.

When Argentina played their first match of the ongoing International break against Uruguay last week, Leo Messi played a 10 minute cameo at the end. However, he had not much to do in those few minutes as Angel Di Maria’s 7th minute goal had the La Albiceleste sorted and it was enough for them to eke out a win.

With this, Lionel Messi and Co. are now just one step away from securing their spot in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. All eyes will now be on the Argentina vs Brazil match wherein the Selecao will look to get revenge for their loss in the Copa America final.

Going on to speak about the upcoming match against Brazil, head coach Lionel Scaloni said, “It’s of great difficulty. Brazil leads the qualifiers and are already qualified. This Brazil team is one of the most vertical of recent times. They are already qualified for the World Cup and we know the difficult that this match will bring. We have to be cautious and know where we can hurt them.”

“You have to play just as you always do, it doesn’t interest me that one of my players plays one way against Venezuela and another way against Brazil.

“I don’t believe that the rest of the opponents in the World Cup qualifiers are not as strong as Brazil. All of the matches are very difficult.”
